Sports Interactive announced in 2021 its plan to incorporate women’s soccer into the Football Manager franchise, with the integration set to take place in Football Manager 2025. This decision was made after careful consideration to ensure that the depth and detail provided for men’s teams would also be available for women’s teams. The extensive database of players, along with individual stats, bios, and injury histories, required adjustments to accommodate the inclusion of women’s football within the game.
Transition to Unity Game Engine for Football Manager 2025
In addition to the introduction of women’s teams, Football Manager 2025 will mark a significant shift for the series as Sports Interactive moves to the Unity game engine. This transition is expected to enhance the graphical capabilities across all platforms, as well as improve the user interface tools. The upcoming edition will feature an entirely new user interface, a more visually appealing matchday experience, and advancements in animations. While the transition to Unity on mobile devices may take a bit longer, the overall improvements are aimed at providing a better gaming experience for players.
