Marvel Games and NetEase have recently unveiled a new team shooter titled Marvel Rivals, reminiscent of Overwatch. This game will feature playable characters from various Marvel Multiverse franchises such as Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and X-Men.

Marvel Rivals is a third-person 6v6 team-based shooter that will be free to play. The game is set in a constantly evolving universe, promising seasonal updates with new heroes, villains, maps, and challenges.

The game boasts a wide selection of characters to choose from, with about a dozen available upon the alpha launch in May. Players can expect to see familiar faces like Spider-Man, Black Panther, Magneto, Magik, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Hulk, and Iron Man. Screenshots reveal characters like Dr. Strange, Storm, and Scarlet Witch, showcasing the extensive Marvel roster.

In terms of gameplay, Marvel Rivals will feature destructible environments, with certain heroes having the ability to reshape the terrain with their powers. The game will introduce players to locations like Asgard and Tokyo of 2099.

The storyline of Marvel Rivals involves multiple Doctor Dooms, various timelines, and colliding universes, typical of cosmic Marvel adventures. The alpha version will be available for PC players in May, with no confirmation yet regarding a console release.

Aside from Marvel Rivals, another anticipated Marvel game in the works is Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, a story-driven action game developed by former Naughty Dog and Visceral Games writer and creative director, Amy Hennig. Players can look forward to experiencing this game next year.
