GOG partners with Amazon Luna for cloud gaming
GOG, the gaming storefront owned by CD Projekt, is teaming up with Amazon Luna to offer cloud gaming services. By streaming games from Amazon’s cloud servers, players can access select titles they’ve purchased from GOG on various devices like PCs, Macs, Android and iOS mobile devices, smart TVs, and Fire tablets. Simply install the Luna app, connect to the internet, and use compatible devices and controllers to play your games.
Game Selection and Compatibility
GOG promises that players can enjoy games they own on its platform, as long as they’re also available on Luna. Popular titles like the Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077 are confirmed to be included, with more games expected to be added over time. Players can purchase games directly from Luna without needing to go through GOG first, as any titles bought on Luna will also appear in your GOG library. Plus, downloads remain DRM-free and players can access GOG Galaxy features like cloud saves and achievements.
Availability and Launch Date
While the collaboration is not yet live, it’s expected to launch “soon” in regions where Luna is available, including the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. Stay tuned for updates on when the service will go live, as the companies continue to work on making the full GOG library accessible on Luna.
