Final Fantasy XIV Online’s Dawntrail expansion is coming on July 2!

It’s a busy time for fans of Final Fantasy and fantasy RPGs in general. Many are still immersed in Baldur’s Gate 3 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but Dragon’s Dogma 2 has just been released and Elden Ring expansion Shadow of the Erdtree is set to arrive in June. The second Final Fantasy XVI DLC, The Rising Tide, is scheduled to drop on April 18. And Square Enix has announced that Dawntrail, the fifth expansion for Final Fantasy XIV Online, will be coming on July 2.

Exciting Additions in Dawntrail

Dawntrail comes after 19 months since the last major expansion, Endwalker. Players can expect a new storyline, two new classes/jobs (Pictomancer and Viper), more dungeons to conquer, and an increased level cap to 100. Pre-orders for the $40 expansion will open on Tuesday, with early access likely starting on June 28 for those who purchase in advance. Digital and physical collector’s editions will also be available, offering exclusive in-game items including an Ark mount based on the eidolon from Final Fantasy IX.

Crossing Paths with Final Fantasy XVI

A crossover questline with Final Fantasy XVI will be active from April 2 to May 8. Completing quests in The Path Infernal will earn players various Final Fantasy XVI-themed in-game rewards.
