Bungie has reportedly laid off an unknown number of staffers and delayed two highly anticipated games. According to Bloomberg, CEO Pete Parsons warned staffers of upcoming news and scheduled a meeting to discuss the events.

Destiny 2 expansion, The Final Shape, and Bungie’s next game, Marathon, have been postponed. The Final Shape has been delayed to June from its original target of February 27, 2024, while Marathon’s release date has been pushed back to 2025.

Sony completed its deal to buy Bungie for $3.6 billion last year. The studio’s aim with Marathon is to establish itself as a prominent player in the modern gaming industry beyond Destiny.
