Blizzard Working to Address Overwatch 2 Launch Issues

Blizzard has acknowledged the issues surrounding the launch of Overwatch 2, including bugs, DDoS attacks, and other problems that have not met player expectations. Despite progress made to make the game playable, the work is far from done. To make it up to fans, the developer is giving out freebies and running events, including Double Match XP weekends for players to rank up.

In-Game Rewards and Updates

Players who log in from October 25th until the end of Season One will receive a Cursed Captain Reaper Legendary skin and a Health Pack Weapon Charm. Blizzard will also deploy more stability updates, with a patch scheduled for release soon, and continue monitoring the game for any emerging issues or bugs.

Although Blizzard maintains a public list of known issues, players are discovering additional problems that have yet to be addressed. Reports include issues with specific characters like Mei and the need to remove heroes from the game to fix bugs in their ability kits.
