‘Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth’ Introduces a New Game Set in the Interim Period between the Two Films

Annapurna Interactive is currently in the process of developing a game based on the iconic science fiction film Blade Runner. The game is situated between the events of Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049, providing a narrative closure regarding Deckard’s activities before his encounter with Ryan Gosling in an abandoned casino.
Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth focuses on a Blade Runner exploring a mysterious location known as the “land of the dead,” while details regarding the protagonist’s identity are intentionally obscured in the trailer. The footage hints at an early iteration of the memory-crafting technology featured in Blade Runner 2049.
According to Annapurna, the game is considered canon and occurs just one year following the original film’s events, positioning it in the midst of significant occurrences alluded to in the sequel. The involvement of Annapurna Interactive in both development and publication distinguishes this project as their inaugural in-house game, following their reputation for releasing acclaimed titles like Stray, Outer Wilds, and Donut County. While a release date has yet to be announced, it is scheduled to debut on major consoles and PC platforms.
