Apple has finally decided to spill the beans with its first-ever App Store transparency report. You can check out the juicy details in the full two-page document on the company’s website. One interesting nugget? There were a whopping 1,783,232 apps available in 2022!

Review, Reject, Repeat

In the report, Apple spills the tea on its app review process. Last year, the tech giant reviewed over 6 million submissions, with a staggering 1.6 million rejections. That’s right, over a million submissions didn’t make the cut! And if that’s not enough drama for you, 441,972 submissions were rejected on legal grounds. Talk about being strict!

Take it Down

Apple wasn’t playing games when it came to taking down apps in 2022. A total of 186,195 apps were removed from the App Store. The majority of takedown requests came from mainland China, with India coming in second. But hey, it’s not all bad news – Apple did restore 169 apps to the Chinese App Store after successful appeals. Users were busy too, downloading almost 750 million apps every week and redownloading over 1.5 billion. Keep those fingers tapping, folks!
