Epic Games Makes Changes to V-Bucks Spending in Fortnite

Since the legal battle with Apple started in 2020, Epic Games has limited updates for the iOS and macOS versions of Fortnite. Players who had the game installed before it was removed from the App Store have been stuck on the 13.40 release for over two years, missing out on new content and features.

What Players Can Expect

As of January 30th, Epic will block V-Bucks spending in the iOS, Mac, and Google Play versions of Fortnite. Players must also be over 18 to play, as Epic aims to standardize all versions with their online services, including parental controls and verifications.

In response to concerns about underage spending, Epic has introduced new account options and settled a $520 million lawsuit regarding online privacy violations. Despite these changes, players can still access Fortnite through other platforms like GeForce Now on iOS and macOS or by downloading the game directly from Epic’s website on Android.
