Metroid Prime 4: New gameplay trailer reveals Samus’ latest psychic powers
After several delays and a complete reboot, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is set to be released in the near future. Nintendo showcased gameplay during a recent Nintendo Direct presentation.
The trailer reveals Samus exploring a jungle planet named Viewros, to which she was unexpectedly transported. She will face hostile alien creatures and scan ancient relics for crucial information to aid in her escape. Additionally, Samus will acquire new psychic abilities to unlock doors, manipulate mechanisms, and control the direction of her beams. The story hints at a mystery surrounding the origin of these powers, which will likely unfold as the game progresses.
While a specific release date has not been announced, Nintendo confirmed that the game will launch on the Switch in 2025. It is anticipated to be compatible with the Switch 2 due to the system’s backwards compatibility feature.
