The Pleasure of Engaging in ‘Fallout 5’ at an Undetermined Temporal Horizon

Following the completion of Starfield and the subsequent transition to full-scale production on The Elder Scrolls 6, Bethesda has revealed that their next project will be Fallout 5. This information was shared by Todd Howard, the studio’s creative director, during an interview with IGN.
Bethesda’s Future Projects
In his statement, Howard confirmed that The Elder Scrolls 6 is currently in pre-production, with Fallout 5 scheduled to follow. He mentioned that while there are other projects being considered, the focus for now is on these two major titles. Howard expressed a desire for faster releases but emphasized the studio’s commitment to delivering high-quality games.
Release Timeline
Bethesda first announced Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6 at E3 2018, setting the stage for future releases. Given the studio’s development timeline, fans may not see The Elder Scrolls 6 until around 2027. With an estimated five-year development period for Fallout 5 thereafter, the next installment may not be available until the following decade. This extended timeframe poses challenges, including potential advancements in console hardware and environmental concerns.
