Sony’s apprehension regarding potential decline in Call of Duty quality on PlayStation post Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision.

Sony’s Concerns Over Microsoft’s Planned Takeover of Activision Blizzard
Sony has expressed further concerns regarding Microsoft’s proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard in its recent response to the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). Sony has been against the deal from the beginning and is now warning that Microsoft could potentially impact the performance and quality of Call of Duty on PlayStation, leading fans to switch to Xbox.
Sony argues that assessing how Microsoft allocates resources and devotes engineers to the PlayStation version of Call of Duty to ensure fair treatment could be challenging. Intentionally degrading the quality of the game on PlayStation could have negative consequences, as highlighted by The Verge. A flawed Call of Duty release on PlayStation may result in a backlash against Microsoft and Activision rather than Sony.
Microsoft has offered to provide Sony with parity in various aspects if they agree to a 10-year agreement to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation. This includes a third-party assessor overseeing platform parity. Sony remains concerned that Microsoft may make Call of Duty a Game Pass exclusive, a claim that Microsoft has refuted.
Unexpected Crossover in Call of Duty Series
In the meantime, it seems Call of Duty fans have another bizarre crossover coming their way soon. A teaser posted on the series’ Twitter account shows Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and a date of March 21st.
