‘Wargroove 2’ brings pirate battles and giant squids to Switch and PC
After a long wait, fans of Advance Wars-style strategy games have something to celebrate. On April 21st, Nintendo is set to release Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp, a remake of the classic Game Boy Advance games that kicked off the series. But that’s not all – Chucklefish has announced a sequel to their 2019 hit Wargroove, another game inspired by Advance Wars.
Wargroove 2 is in the works, with no official release date yet. When it does come out, it will be available on Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam. Robotality, the studio behind 2019’s Pathway, is taking the lead on development this time around. The sequel promises new factions, units, and three single-player campaigns. Chucklefish is even throwing in a roguelike mode, as well as an enhanced level editor for players to create their own content.
And if you haven’t tried the original Wargroove yet, now’s the time. The game is currently 70 percent off on Steam, the biggest discount ever offered by Chucklefish.
