Almost a decade has passed since the last Silent Hill game was released by Konami, excluding P.T. Now, the company is set to unveil the next chapter for the franchise with the promise of “latest updates” during a stream on October 19th at 5PM ET.

The announcement came via a tweet from the publisher, directing fans to a placeholder Silent Hill website where the stream will be available. Composer Akira Yamaoka and art director Masahiro Ito, known for their work on the series, hinted at a new game in the works. Yamaoka’s involvement with Bloober Team’s The Medium has fueled speculation that a Silent Hill 2 remake is in development.

In addition to the potential new game, there are rumors of an episodic series and a playable teaser similar to P.T. for a mainline title. While the series has been quiet since the cancellation of Silent Hills in 2015, collaborations like Pyramid Head’s appearance in Dead by Daylight have kept the franchise alive.

Christophe Gans, director of the first Silent Hill movie, has teased a script for a third film and hinted at multiple game projects in the works at Konami. With anticipation building, fans are hopeful for the return of P.T. and the revival of the beloved horror series.
