‘System Shock’ Remake Scheduled for Release on PC on May 30th

The highly anticipated System Shock remake finally has a specific release date, albeit with another delay. Publisher Prime Matter had initially aimed to launch the game this month, but due to unforeseen circumstances, it has been pushed back to May 30th. The game will be available on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store for $40, with early buyers receiving a complimentary copy of System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition upon its release.
Console players will have to wait a bit longer, as the remake is set to arrive on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S after the initial PC launch in May. Prime Matter has promised to provide more information on the console release at a later date.
The remake of the classic 1994 first-person RPG has been in development since 2015, with various updates and enhancements along the way. The latest version aims to maintain the core gameplay of the original while improving the visuals, audio, controls, and interface. Nightdive Studios is also introducing new features such as an updated hacking system, new enemies, and a dismemberment mechanic in combat.
