Apple wins in court against Epic Games – booyah!

An appeals court has recently upheld most of the lower court ruling in the antitrust battle between Apple and Epic Games. The ruling dismissed claims that Apple violated federal competition law by prohibiting alternative app stores. Interestingly, the court also hinted that Epic Games may be on the hook for Apple’s legal fees.
Apple is celebrating this decision as a win for its App Store practices, while Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney is looking towards new opportunities in the aftermath of the ruling. The whole legal debacle began when Epic tried to sidestep iOS and Android payment systems with in-game purchases.
Despite this outcome, there is a possibility that both Apple and Google might consider allowing third-party app stores on their platforms in the future. The battle between these tech giants is far from over!
